ROCKY FORD CHAMBER OF COMMERCE PARADE OF LIGHTS LIT UP ARKANSAS VALLEY FAIRGROUNDS
By: Trent Ryan
The Rocky Ford Parade of Lights took on a different look this year. With new Covid - 19 regulations and restrictions threatening the event, the city of Rocky Ford chose to forego the traditional parade and host a drive-thru display. This allowed the community to drive thru the Rocky Ford Fairgrounds to view stationary floats and displays, all from the comfort of their own vehicle.
About ten different floats and displays were in attendance Saturday night. Ark Valley Entertainment, SecoNews, the Small Town Project, the City of Rocky Ford, and the Rocky Ford Fire Department all came out to show their support.
More than 250 cars were counted as they drove through the fairgrounds throughout the night. This included community members from Las Animas, La Junta, Swink, Rocky Ford, Manzanola, Ordway and Fowler.
