LA JUNTA — International Foods Night looks different this spring but the spirit of community generosity has stayed the same. Well over 50 businesses and individuals have donated items, services, artwork, entertainment, gift certificates and more to support the silent auction to accompany the 26th Annual International Foods Night. The online auction for the fundraising event goes live on Thursday, April 1 at noon.

“This fundraiser is not fooling around!” Director of International Relations Maureen Rikhof reports. “We have something for everyone and we are looking forward to a fun week of competitive bidding and fundraising fun! And for such a good cause! Every dollar goes to support the international students on the OJC campus!”

Unique options include a “Tarantula Crossing” basket with unique, handmade spider adorned items that includes a two hour adventure with a tarantula hunting guide for you and your friends this fall as well as a one-of-a-kind tour of the campus from OJC’s very own Almabeth Kaess. Paintings, photography, homemade cakes, restaurant gift certificates, rounds of golf, theatre tickets, and more are all available.

Historically, the spring fundraiser to support the International students at OJC is a live event that includes international cuisine and entertainment provided by the students. Covid has forced a creative option for this year’s event and participants are asked to donate at the event website in order to get access to the silent auction, a playlist of music provided by the students, a recipe booklet and an invite to the Facebook live streaming event which will start at 6:30 pm, MDT, on Thursday, April 8. Visit https://www.ojc.edu/ifn.aspx to make your donation and start bidding today.
