The club is well represented at its home show.

A local car, you can ask Tony Lopez if she's spent a lot of time in the paint booth at Ruby's Body Shop.

I'm sure the local kids love the "Hotwheels" Z28 Camero almost as much as its owner. I've seen this car out at lots of local shows and track days, it's always a hit with my kids.

You have to appreciate the painters personal touch on his vehicle with this custom hood prop. I wonder if he lets his wife drive?

Black Chevy's were also well represented at the club show. Including this beautiful Nova which was also painted in the same shop as the "Hotwheels" Camero, however it was under a previous name and ownership at the time. Kenneth Harris painted it while his family had Harris Bros Body Shop, which was later purchased by the Ruby family.

You've got to love it when they look fast under the hood too.

I had to offset the black Chevy's with a red Volkswagon. This 1970 camper has preserved pantina on the outside. It has a flat clearcoat to protect the wear from sitting in a field in Cheraw for many years. The clearcoat was applied by Geoff Lucero at Precision Body and Paint in Swink. Look for an upcoming in depth article on this tastefully restomodded "hippie van."

This 1957 Chevy has all the trim.

She's beautiful on the inside too.

What a Belair. All the fixings with all the trim. I would argue that you can find art, heritage, and culture at the park in mid-September at the Southeast Colorado Antique Vehicle Club Show.

One of my personal favorite vehicles of all time. I am letting my bias show as this was my late Uncle Ernie Lewis' last build. This 1941 Ford is powered by a mustang 302 with custom mods. You can expect an upcoming article on the local history of this beautiful mayfair maroon Ford.

Recovered from the pasture by Ernie Lewis and given a new life with a sportscar chassis and drive train, this outstanding pickup's show display includes a picture of the truck's original owner.

I feel obligated to say that my mother had the nicest car at the show. It is a big block pony car after all. This S-code 390 Cougar GT in Jamaican Yellow (Mercury's branding for Springtime Yellow) was equipped with a C6 automatic transmission, quick ratio steering, and the GT performance package. It was originally a Pueblo car, but moved to the Swink area when it was purchased by Ernie Lewis in the early 80's.

Dressed like a 427, this 390 has numerous modifications to combat the vapor locking tendencies of the fairweather engine's preferences. This problem is common across all models equipped with this engine, however that did not stop Motortrend Magazine from naming the 1967 Cougar the "Car of The Year."

Although it's not an antique or even a classic yet, this 1998 Mustang SVT Cobra was welcomed by the club.

It's hard to miss this bright green Ford T-bucket. I love this build. Imagine feeling the wind in your face while the custom exhaust system reminds the neighbors that loud pipes save lives.

You can expect to find Hotwheels and Looney Tunes at the Southeast Colorado Antique Vehicle Club Show. Keep in mind that the club members are pretty entertaining too. Make a plan to attend the clubs' next show for a day of fun with the whole family mid-September in the La Junta City Park.
