  1. Current COVID-19 Dial Status

ü  Crowley:

§ Current Level:  Green, Protect Our Neighbors (PON)

§ Data time period:  (3/29/2021-4/11/2021)

§ Notes:  Crowley is no longer Dial 2.0 compliant for Green Level, however we do remain Dial 3.0 compliant, though we are no longer “green across the board” due to recent increases in community cases.

ü  Otero

§ Current Level:  Green, Protect Our Neighbors (PON)

§ Data time period:  (3/29/2021-4/11/2021)

§ Notes:  Otero is no longer Dial 2.0 compliant we just became noncompliant for Dial 3.0.

ü  Dial 3.0 Green Level/PON Metric Thresholds

a.       Seven day test positivity rate less than 5%

b.      Seven consecutive days with an incidence rate less than 35/100,000 people; OR

c.       Seven consecutive days with a rolling comparable case count between 0-10; AND

d.      Stable (no more than 25% increase) or declining counts of new confirmed COVID-19 hospitalizations in the county’s referral hospitals (as defined by the local public health agency) in the last 14 days compared to the previous 14 day period OR no more than 2 new hospital admissions on any day in the last 14 days.

e.       You can find COVID-19 Dial Level Determinants and Level Restrictions here:  COVID-19 dial dashboard | Colorado COVID-19 Updates

ü  Crowley/Otero Hospitalizations:  We have had 2 recent COVID-19 hospital admissions.  These are our first hospitalizations since 2/25/2021.

  1. Masks continue to be required in the following settings/places:

ü  Schools (including for extracurricular activities);

ü  Child care centers;

ü  Indoor children’s camps;

ü  Public-facing state government facilities;

ü  Emergency medical and other healthcare settings (including hospitals, ambulance service centers, urgent care centers, non-ambulatory surgical structures, clinics, doctors’ offices, and non-urgent care medical structures);

ü  Personal services (i.e. hair salons, nail salons, esthetician services, body art professionals, etc.);

ü  Limited health care settings as defined by Public Health Order (PHO) 20-36;

ü  Congregate care facilities (nursing facilities, assisted living residences, intermediate care facilities, and group homes); &

ü  Prisons and jails.

  1. Social distancing is still required.
  1. Additionally, I am making the following recommendations based upon the recent case increases in Crowley and Otero Counties:

ü  I would strongly urge all those that have not been vaccinated to wear a mask when in any public places, including employees/staff of businesses.

ü  If you have been vaccinated but you have not had 14 full days elapse since being vaccinated with Johnson and Johnson vaccine, or 14 full days have not elapsed since your booster shot (second shot) of Moderna or Pfizer vaccine, please wear a mask when in any public places, including employees/staff of businesses.  This 14 day period allows your body the necessary time to develop immunity.

Keeping COVID-19 cases down is a collective effort, we are all relying on one another, and we are all in this together.  When cases begin to stabilize and drop (and they will), I will let you know.

It’s up to us.
