GEORGINA GINA MEEHAN OBITUARY

Georgina Meehan, 73, of Colorado Springs, CO, passed away Tuesday, May 4th, at Pike's Peak Care Center.

Georgina was born in La Junta, CO on May 31, 1947, a daughter of the late Beatrice (Montoya) and George Gallegos.

Gina was married to Carl Meehan.

Gina was a very loving and giving woman, and in return loved by many. Her trade was doing hair, but she was a master of many things, in all you could call Gina an artist. Anything she did she seemed to be good at, and she did everything with love, especially cooking and baking. Any meal she prepared was delicious, but Mexican food was her specialty. Her family and friends all couldn’t get enough of her green chili and burritos. Every Christmas she made an assortment of homemade cookies and passed them out. Nobody could make cookies like Gina.

She could also sew, and was very good at it. She made clothes for her kids when they were little, Halloween costumes for her grandkids, and tailored many pants in her days. She kept her house and her yard immaculate. Her yard was picture perfect always full of flowers, and decorations, it was so inviting. She always had time to help out family, or attend one of her Grandkids sporting events. You could always depend on Gina if you were having a bad day, needed advice, or just needed a hug, she loved to hug. Gina also loved babies, and helped with each of her grandkids in some way as they grew up. She was raised with strong family values and passed those on to her two daughters, Jody and Donna.

She loved to host family gatherings and even as she aged, she made sure to keep that family bond she had with her Father, Mother, Brothers, Sister, and all her nieces and nephews. She had two dogs with her husband Carl, Sable and Frito. These dogs were treated like royalty, they even had fur lined sweaters that they put on every time they went outside. Gina loved to dance and sing to Mexican music, and Carl played guitar in a Tejano band, that’s how they met. Her laughter was contagious and could always be heard above everyone else’s in the room. She had the most beautiful silver hair, and she always had it done perfectly.

Gina will be surely be missed, but never forgotten. She has left so many wonderful impressions and memories upon all of us. She will continued to be honored as a Spouse, Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, Auntie, Sister, Daughter, and Friend. May God watch over you Gina, you have received your wings, although you always were our sweet angel, go and rest in peace. We love you.
