VFW Auxiliary #2411 Teaches Pledge of Allegiance to Las Animas Elementary Students

On May 18th, the Las Animas VFW Auxiliary #2411 met with kindergarten and first grade students at the Las Animas Elementary School to review the most respectful way to recite the Pledge of the Allegiance. 

VFW Auxiliary Volunteers were Lana Gardner, Principal, Pat Gonazles, Barb Martin, Pam Cortez, Kathleen Tomlin and Hunter Tomlin (youth volunteer).  We thank the kindergarten teachers, Cindy Winstead and Vivian Noble; and first grade teachers, Samantha Hines and Toni Laurent, for inviting us to come to their classrooms. 

Each child met individually with a volunteer and recited the pledge, then were presented with a flag, a pencil that has the Pledge of Allegiance on it, a flag coloring book, and a flag brochure. 

There were 29 kindergarten kids and 35 first graders.  VFW Auxiliary always encourages patriotic activities.  God Bless our Veterans and God Bless America.
