Quilt of Valor Presentation to John G Daniel of La Junta

Local Purple Heart Recipient and Vietnam Veteran, John G. Daniel was recognized by the Quilts of Valor Foundation at The First Christian Church of La Junta Saturday, June 5, 2021. 

Daniel is a lifetime member of the Disabled American Veterans, Military order of the Purple Heart, Veterans of Foreign Wars, and member of American Legion Post #9 of La Junta.

A good-sized crowd including John's son Jerry and other friends and family attended the event at the First Christian Church in La Junta. Several members of the local media attended the event as well.

Jay Scott with the American Legion Post #9 of La Junta introduced Representatives from the Quilt of Valor Foundation Barbara Wroblewski Who is a Member of the Kiowa County Chapter and The Baca County Quilts of Valor Foundation President Tila Dunn Gave a Presentation Recounting Daniel's Heroic Actions During Vietnam.

The Following Video includes Scott's introduction and the Quilt of Valor presentation from Dunn and Wroblewski to Daniel. Includes Quilts of Valor Foundation introduction, and John's extensive story, "Valor is Great Courage in The Face of Danger, Especially in Battle and that certainly depicts John Daniel." Dunn Said in her opening statements.
