OTERO COUNTY — The Colorado Department of Transportation and TLM Constructors are pleased to announce the completion and opening of the bridge on CO Highway 71. Work began on the structure south of Rocky Ford at MP 10.71 over the Rocky Ford Highline Canal in February. The work required a full road closure to enable crews to replace the bridge structure. Bridge rail and guardrail was also replaced as well as roadway reconstruction for the bridge approach. This project benefits motorists by making the bridge safer and improving the driving experience. “The project was able to overcome a very wet spring and get the bridge replaced quickly,” said Richard Zamora, CDOT Region 2 Transportation Director.
