Rebecca Palacio

Rebecca Guerrero Palacio who loved to be called “Becky”, 66, of Las Animas passed away on June 15, 2021 at the UC Health Memorial Hospital in Colorado Springs. She was born on October 25, 1954 in La Junta to the late John Joe & Angelina (Fernandez) Guerrero.

Becky enjoyed watching Godzilla and Western movies, especially any movies that John Wayne was in. As well as TV shows like Little House of the Prairie and The Walton’s. She enjoyed cooking for all holiday gatherings with her family and friends. Some of her favorite dishes included, Tamales, Zucchini and Banana Nut Breads, She had a few hobbies that she enjoyed which was going fishing with her husband and children, crocheting, and sewing and always taking numerous pictures with and of her family and friends. She was loved and will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

She is survived by her husband, Mike A. Palacio; children, Mike A. (Thelma) Palacio, III; Carla (Chris) Beurman and Thonias Palacio; very special goddaughter, Nicole Labazette; grandchildren, great-grandchild, three brothers, and five sisters. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, John Robert “Bobby” Guerrero.

Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be Wednesday, June 23, 2021 at 9:30 a.m. followed by the Memorial Mass at 10:00 a.m. both services at Our Lady of Guadalupe/St. Patrick Parish with Father Victor Raj officiating. Interment will follow at the Calvary Cemetery in La Junta.
