Free Sand Creek Massacre Presentation at Grand Theatre July 10

There will be a meeting of the Bent’s Fort Chapter of the Santa Fe Trail Association on July 10 starting at 1pm.

The meeting will be held at the Grand Theatre, 405 N. Main St., Rocky Ford(map below).

There will be a general chapter meeting followed by our speaker, Jeff Broome. 

Jeff’s presentation will focus on the Sand Creek Massacre and other conflicts on the Central Plains.

While Jeff's career includes teaching at a Denver-area Community College, it was his early love of history, especially Colorado, that spurred his research and writing.

The author of the recently published book, Indian Raids and Massacres Essays on the Central Plains Indian War, Jeff will focus on the causes of the Sand Creek Massacre along with other events in the Central Plains. 

This event is free and open to all.

Membership in the Bent’s Fort Chapter is $15 per year.
