Otero County Sand and Sage 4-H Club Ark Valley Fairgrounds Clean Up

Description: There was no shortage of volunteers to bring pies to be served at the 4-H kitchen during the fair and to provide lunch for the judges on General Exhibit day.

Otero County Sand and Sage 4-H Club Cleans Up Ark Valley Fairgrounds

As an annual tradition the Sand and Sage 4-H Club of Otero County meets before their July meeting to clean the 4-H area of the Arkansas Valley Fairgrounds in preparation for the Arkansas Valley Fair 4-H exhibition. 

Club Vice President Jennifer Gardner conducted the meeting; afterwards several club members gave presentations. 

The presentations included subject material such as shooting positions, cake decorating tips, horse saddles, and what to keep in a show box kit for showing dogs and aggressive behavior in dogs.

Clean up was quick because many hands pledged to the community make light work.

The Arkansas Valley Fairgrounds were in pretty clean condition prior to the clean up, but youthful enthusiasm ensured that trash was hauled out by the bag full.

The 4-H Club cleaned every nook and cranny around the Arkansas Valley Fairgrounds 4-H Barn even if it meant they had to jump a fence or two.

This fair season is a great time to show your support of your Local Southeast Colorado 4-H Club through the food silent auction, the purchase of a livestock animal, make a donation, or by joining the club!
