Arkansas River SECO News seconews.orgThe National Weather Service of Pueblo issued a Flood Watch for the Arkansas River in the La Junta/Otero County area at 1:14 PM Sunday August 1, 2021.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... If you are in the watch area, remain alert to possible flooding. Residents and those with interests near the river should monitor rising water levels and be prepared for possible flood warnings. Additional information is available at www.weather.gov.

The next statement will be issued this evening at 915 PM MDT.

The Flood Watch continues for the Arkansas River At La Junta.

* From Monday evening to Wednesday morning. * At 12:15 PM MDT Sunday the stage was 7.8 feet. * Flood stage is 11.0 feet. * Flooding is possible. * Forecast...Flood stage may be reached late tomorrow evening. * Impact...At 11.0 feet, Minor Flood.
