The Bicentennial Symposium Planning Board Meeting was held August 28 in The Otero College Ed Stafford Theater Building. During the meeting, Secretary and Finance Officer of the Bent's Fort Chapter of the Santa Fe Trail Association LaDonna Hutton made a special announcement. 

In conjunction with the Santa Fe Trail Bicentennial Symposium Michael Martin Murphey will perform in La Junta on Friday September 24th, according to Hutton.

The Historic Koshare Kiva Museum will host the country and folk performer, who has his own storied history of portraying Americana and Western Culture.

Hutton said, "The Public is invited to the Koshare Kiva for this Celebratory Performance from the Honorary Chair of the The Santa Fe Trail Bicentennial Symposium, Michael Martin Murphey."

Seating at the venue is very limited, according to Hutton. She said tickets are currently on sale at outhousetickets.com.
