Boggsville Days-September 25th-Come join the festivities!
 
Boggsville Days will be extra special this year as we celebrate the 200th anniversary of the Santa Fe Trail. Come out for a full day of fun for the whole family!
 
Enjoy music, Mexican dancing, cowboy poetry and more but be sure to take cover when the gunfighters arrive! Learn to make tortillas, churn butter and bake dutch oven biscuits. Dress up and take an old-time photo of the family. Kids can play old -fashioned games, pet a calf and lamb, visit a one-room school house and help break a piñata.
 
There will be no shortage of tasty food either. Savor a bowl of red or green chili and hot tortillas or cornbread with hotdogs for the kids. Partake of the bake sale, pie auction and join the pie eating contest.

October 30 Day of the Dead Dinner
The City of Las Animas celebrates the Day of the Dead with a fiesta including dinner and native dancers performing at the John Rawlings Heritage Center.
 
The John Rawlings Heritage Center & Museum is open Tuesday, 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Wednesday – Friday, 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.,
Saturday, 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Closed Sunday and Monday. The Heritage Library is open by appointment.
Boggsville’s grounds with self-guided tour are open daily year-round.
The historic Boggs and Prowers houses are open Tuesday - Saturday, the last week of April through September.
