Obituary

Margaret Ann Amaya, 60, of Rocky Ford, CO, passed away Friday, September 3rd, at Arkansas Valley Regional Medical Center, La Junta.

Margaret was born in Scotts Bluff, NE on September 19, 1960, a daughter of the late Jennie Lucille (Hernandez) and Eutimio Trujillo.

She graduated from Rocky Ford High School.

Margaret met Louis Amaya in 1977. They were married on February 9, 1985 in Rocky Ford. Together they raised two children and built a life they were proud of.

She enjoyed working in the yard on her flowers and her indoor plants. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who always put her family first and made sure they knew they were loved. Margaret was very faithful and devoted to God and her church as well and always there to help any way possible.

She worked as an Employment & Education Verification Specialist as well as a QA for 10 years in the background investigation industry.

She is survived by:
Husband Louis of the home;
Daughter Tina, wife of Tony Coulter, of Colorado Springs, CO;
Son Louis, husband of Amanda Amaya, Jr., of Colorado Springs, CO;
Grandchildren Kirsten, Aryana, Isaac, Xavier & Lilliana;
Siblings Paula Wakefield, Rosalind Rico, Angela Bransford, Jeri Vargas, Annette Pantoya, Eutimio, Jr., John and Michael Trujillo
Numerous Nieces, Nephews, Great - Nieces and Great - Nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents; 2 brothers and 1 sister.

It was Margaret's wish to be cremated, so there will be a Celebration of Life held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, September 21st at Victorious Church; 26646 County Road 24 Swink, CO 81077 with Pastor Daniel Blackwell officiating. Inurnment will be private at a later time.
