William "Bill" McCanless

June 26, 1942 - September 23, 2021

William "Bill" Arthur McCanless, 79, of Rocky Ford, CO passed away Thursday, September 23rd, at his residence.

William was born in Rocky Ford, CO on June 26, 1942, a son of the late Mildred Mary (Raven) and William Homer McCanless.

He was the husband of Wanda Loretta (Bickford) McCanless.

He attended the Nazarene Church in Rocky Ford, CO.

He served in the U.S. Marines.

Bill was born and raised in Rocky Ford graduating from Rocky Ford High School. Bill was a jack of all trades working as a butcher, at the Mill Rite, as a Cowboy and in Building & Construction.

The only thing the he loved more than his horses was family. Bill would do anything for his family, friends and even strangers. He will be missed by all who knew him.

William is survived by
Wife Wanda of the home;
Daughter Rebecca (Gary) Hillis, of Fowler, CO;
Son Bill (Monti) McCanless, of Fowler, CO;
Son Sam (Leslie) McCanless, of Idaho;
Daughter Brenda Sosa, of Rocky Ford, CO;
Daughter April Spell, of Edwards, CO;
Daughter Ellen McCanless, of Pueblo, CO;
Sister, Kellie (Phil) Martinez, of Olney Springs, CO.

He is also survived by 20 grandchildren; 31 great - grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews

Bill was preceded in death by his parents; sisters: Punky Becker, Jo Kreie and Kay McCanless; granddaughters: Rachael Sosa and Trenity McCanless

A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, October 2nd at Hillcrest Cemetery in Rocky Ford, CO with Pastor Paul Ferrell officiating. Graveside Services Hillcrest Cemetery, Rocky Ford, CO.
