Smoldering Tree Branch Call Quickly Resolved, Multiple Agencies Respond

The Otero County Sheriff's Office and La Junta Fire Department responded to a call and assisted Black Hills Energy while they repaired a downed line behind the Pat Lesar Memorial Gym. There were no injuries, but extra precautions were taken as school was about to release, according to Black Hills personnel. 

From the La Junta Fire Department Facebook post:

At 1339 we responded to reported smell of smoke in a residence from a tree branch falling onto a power line at 605 Columbia in Swink. No fire found upon arrival. Used thermal imager and all was ok inside the house. Black Hills Energy arrived and disconnected the power.
