Obituary

Robert Alvaro “Bucky” Ayala of La Junta, Colorado entered into rest in his home, November 4, 2021. He was born February 19, 1960 in La Junta, Colorado to Virginia and Joe Ayala.

He is survived by his siblings, Pat Rangel of Pueblo, John Ayala of Denver, Colorado, Joe Ayala, Jr. of La Junta, Richard Ayala of Denver, Anthony (Rebecca) Ayala of Taos and La Junta, Debra Nicholson of La Junta, Christine (Michael Dibble) Moreno of La Junta, Connie Ayala of La Junta, Uncle, Nash Ayala of La Junta, nephews and nieces, Jeanette, Arlene, Benny, Misty, John, Lisa, Renee, Lawrence, Jason, Isaac, Lisa, Lori, Jerry, Regina, Zeke, Lyndsay, Courtney, Aubrey, Cameron, Eric, Liane, Leslie, Christopher, Michael, Cody, and Joseph, thousands of other nieces and nephews, as he was affectionately known as “Uncle Buck”.

Bucky is preceded in death by parents, Virginia and Joe Ayala, nephews, George Rangel, Denny Rangel, Josh Gonzalez, Cory Juniel, numerous aunts and uncles.

Bucky was a former Santa Fe Railroad employee. He also worked in concrete and left his mark all over Colorado and Various States. He was recently employed with EMR Construction of La Junta. Bucky was a fast-Pitch Softball player for 40 plus years. His position was catcher and his brother Rich’s was the Pitcher. They were the best battery mates in men’s fastpitch. He Attended the World Series of Fastpitch Softball in California in 1996. A few of his former teams were, Ali’s Tavern, La Junta, Colorado. Hectors and Diablos of Denver, Colorado. He was a “Belmont Bulldog” in his early years. He wore the number 1 and he loved Babe Ruth. He was an avid La Junta Tiger Sports Fan and cheered on most of Colorado Sports Teams. He loved everyone and always had a joke and a smile until we meet again “Brother Buck” “Uncle Buck” and “UB”.

A 10:00 A.M. Rosary will be held November 19, 2021 Memorial Mass at Our Lady of Guadalupe St. Patrick’s Catholic Church. Father Charlie Sena will be officiating.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the loving care of the Johnson-Romero Family Funeral Home.
