Obituary
Helen “Faye” Johannes was born in Alabama City, Alabama on March 9, 1929. She moved to La Junta, Colorado in 1946 and graduated from La Junta High School in 1947. She attended Otero Junior College and also the University of Southern Colorado. She was married to Julius Johannes for almost 65 years From November 20, 1955 until he passed on May 17, 2020. She is survived by her son, Randall (Jennifer) and her daughter, Susan (Doug Zimbleman); grandchildren, Andrew (Ashley) and Jeffrey Johannes. She is also survived by sister-in-law, Bernice Markus and many nieces and nephews.

Faye worked as a secretary for the Colorado Bank & Trust, Colorado National Bank, Alpha Beta Packing, and then retired from Pueblo School District 60 in 1991 as a full time employee and continued for many years as a part time employee.

Faye was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Pueblo, Colorado for over 60 years and served a Deaconess for many years.

Graveside service will Friday, November 19, 2021, at 1:00 p.m. at Fairview Cemetery in La Junta with Reverend John Dell officiating. Visitation will be Friday, Nov. 19, from 10:00 a.m. to noon at Peacock Memorial Chapel.

In lieu of flowers and if friends wish, a donation can be made to Calvary Baptist Church or to the Pueblo Zoo as she was a lifelong supporter.
