Obituary

Orlando Terrones, “OT”, “Big O”, 60, of Crowley, CO passed away Friday, November 26, 2021. The family is deeply sadden by his sudden death.

Orlando was born in Scott City, KS on December 21, 1960 to Savino and Virginia Terrones.

He graduated from Crowley County High School in 1980.

Orlando grew up on the family farm near King Center and was one of the eight children. At an early age he was taught God, strong work ethic, kindness and putting family first. Orlando always carried that with dignity and pride!

He was the husband of Michelle (Flores) Terrones. They married on April 8, 1989 and built an everlasting love with their children Monique and Shawna Lee.

Orlando was employed with Crowley County Road and Bridge for 5 years before serving 30 years with Colorado Department of Transportation.

Orlando embraced his community and served as a member with the Crowley Fire Department and Crowley Town Council Board for 30 years, Crowley County School Board and BOCES for 13 years and Crowley County Heritage Society for four years. He took pride in his community always making sure that the town was well presented to all that entered. He was one the grounds and maintenance technicians for the Town of Crowley and Heritage Center for seven years.

He was a giving man. He enjoyed making burritos and salsa to share with family and friends. Orlando knew no stranger. He instantly shared a smile and if he didn’t know you, he would get to know you. He would give a friendly wave driving down the road whether he knew you or not.
