Obituary

Alfred Andrew Mondragon of La Junta, Colorado, entered into rest, November 30, 2021, at the UC Health Memorial Hospital Central in Colorado Springs, Colorado. He was born to Alexandra and Alfred Mondragon in La Junta, Colorado April 1, 1964. He was 57 years of age.

Alfred is survived by his wife Brenda Mondragon, Children Amber (Steven) Agosto, Nichole (Chance) Frazier, Marina (Isaac) Casillas, Rosa Duran, Alfred (Shanice) Mondragon Jr., Anthony Mondragon, Alex (Mariah) Mondragon, Crystal Archuleta, Anna Angel, Jade (Justin) Del Rio, mother, Alexandra Cruz, brother Patrick (Michelle) Mondragon, sisters; Tina (Brian) Nelson, Stephanie Johnson. He is also survived by 26 grandchildren, one great-grandchild, nieces and nephews, and many extended family members and friends.

Alfred is preceded in death by his Father Alfred Mondragon, Infant Brother Steven Mondragon, Grandmother Estefana Guerrero, and Nephew PJ Mondragon.

He was self-employed and the owner of Mondragon Construction LLC. Alfred was a hardworking man and made everything happen that you asked for. He never gave up until he got it. He always tried putting a smile on peoples faces. He enjoyed gambling, shopping and spending time with his family. He loved his family especially his grandchildren, but he did not like spaghetti.

Alfred finally married, May 27, 2021 after 19 years. He was a strong protector, provider, and was always helpful and generous in any way, even to strangers, but he had a huge stubborn side. He was spontaneous, especially over vehicles, his camper, (ask about the adventure it brought) he made time for spontaneous adventures. He was a major supporter of family and friends. Alfred had an open heart for his community and was proud of his recent baptism. Raider Nation for life.

A 9:00 A.M. Visitation will be held Monday December 6, 2021 followed by an 11:30 A.M. Funeral Service at the First Church of the Nazarene in La Junta, Colorado. Pastor Paul Simon will be officiating. A committal Service will be held at Calvary Cemetery in La Junta, Colorado following services.
