Otero Ag is Ringing in the New Year with the Ag Gala!

LA JUNTA — The New Year’s Eve Ag Gala is back, even bigger and better than before!

The 9th annual Ag Gala will be held on Dec. 31, 2021, and will be in the Rizzuto Banquet Room of the Student Center at Otero College. Doors open at 7 p.m. The night’s program includes: a beef brisket dinner, live country music by Country Gold, dancing, cash bar, door prizes, as well as live and silent auctions that will all start at 7:45 p.m. The event will conclude at 1 a.m. after ringing in the new year.

The Otero Ag program looks forward to seeing everyone at the Ag Gala each year. They appreciate the support for the Ag scholarships that go directly to their own students.

One of this year’s scholarship recipients, Cord Proctor, stated, “This scholarship has allowed me to focus on my academics while pursuing my degree in the agriculture industry. I really appreciate the community and the foundation for their support of the Ag Premiere Scholarship and helping students like myself, pursue a career in Ag.” The other recipients of the 2021-2022 Ag scholarships are Emily Nelson, Ashley Martin, Jacob Groves and Eugene Jackson.

The 2021 Ag Gala offers 5 different levels of sponsorship. The Platinum sponsorship, which is $1000 and up, this includes: a table for 8, a bottle of champagne a bottle of red wine, 24 door prize tickets, 8 beer boots, and a plaque to display. The Gold sponsorship, which is $500-$999, includes: a table for 8, one bottle of champagne, 16 door prize tickets, and a certified sponsorship. The Silver sponsorship, which is a donation of $350, includes a table for 8 and one bottle of champagne. The Turquoise sponsorship is a donation of $150, which includes tickets for 4 guests. The last type of sponsorship is a donation for any specific amount. This is an ideal way to support Otero’s agriculture department if you are unable to attend the Ag Gala. All donations will receive recognition at that evening’s event. Individual tickets are $35 and couple’s tickets are $60. The Otero Ag program thanks you in advance for the community’s trust and support in the program!
