The Swink Cheerleaders returned to the Broadmoor World Arena to defend their title as state champions in the 2A-3A Division on Thursday December 9, 2021.

In a field of 26 schools in the CHSAA 2A-3A Division competing in the game day category of the School Spirit Championships, Swink was among six squads to make it into the finals and the only one representing a 2A school.

They put down two solid performances, however the competitive field got stronger as evidenced by comparison of scores from the previous year. The Swink squad surpassed their score from last year, which won the 2020 championship.

As the only 2A team to make it into the finals facing teams from school districts much larger in both number of students (600) and in program funding the Swink Lady Lions accomplished several goals. The first of which was making it through the preliminary performance to finals, and their second goal was to score above 90, which they did twice over.

The Lady Lions Cheerleaders, Coach Renea Hunter, Kiele Briscoe, and the Swink parents and fans should be proud of their girls for giving their all in representing the Swink community in the 2021 2A-3A State Spirit Championships.
