Otero Commissioners Thank Santa Fe Trail Bicentennial Symposium

Otero County Administrator Amy White-Tanabe presents the painting by Ron Kil that has been awarded to Otero County by the Bent’s Old Fort Chapter of the Santa Fe Trail Association Bicentennial Symposium.

White-Tanabe said that the painting was awarded to Otero County in appreciation of their support of the Bicentennial Symposium held in September of 2021.

The Commissioners commented that the painting was beautiful and asked where it would hang. White-Tanabe said she had a suggestion on where to display the painting commemorating the historic anniversary of the Santa Fe Trail.
