A Graveside Service for David DiRezza will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, January 14, 2022 at the Bent/Las Animas Cemetery in Las Animas, Colorado with Pastor Diane Hutson officiating. Military Committal Rites will be provided by American Legion Post #6 and V.F.W. Post #2411.
David Nero DiRezza was born on September 27, 1935 in Denver, Colorado to Nero and Alice (Strue) DiRezza. He passed away on January 9, 2022 in Colorado Springs, Colorado at the age of 86.
David grew up in Denver, Colorado. He served in the United States Navy from 1952 until 1956. On November 26, 1955 he was united in marriage to Mildred Dolores “DoDo” Pilkington. To this union they had two children, Tammy and Daniel. After being honorably discharged he worked as a steel worker for a short time before beginning to farm and ranch in Parker, Colorado. In 1968, the family moved to the Arkansas Valley to continue to farm and ranch. In 2000, David and DoDo moved to their farm West of Las Animas. After DoDo’s passing, David continued to live on the farm until 2018 when he moved to La Junta.
David is survived by his son, Dan (Katrena); four grandchildren, Kendra DiRezza, Kassidy (Clay) Davis, Kain DiRezza, and Kody DiRezza all of Las Animas, Colorado; brother, Jim (Nelda) DiRezza of Arvada, Colorado; nephew, Marc (Candice) DiRezza of Lakewood, Colorado; and brother-in-law, Ken Jackson of La Junta, Colorado.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, DoDo DiRezza; daughter, Tammy DiRezza; sister, Beverly Jackson; brother, Gene DiRezza; and a niece, Michelle.
