First National Bank Contactors Demolish Old Martin's General Store in Rocky Ford, CO

The First National Bank of Rocky Ford begins their new building project with the demolition of the former Martin's General Store Building on Main and US Hwy 50.

Contractors Ark Valley Construction began the demolition portion of the project on Monday, March 14, 2022.

Afterwards they will begin construction on the new bank building. They will continue to serve their clients from the old location. Once the new bank is finished they will move in and begin demolition of the adjacent building, currently home to First National Bank. We spoke with President Robert Valdez and other employees about the project.

The new building will bring a refreshed block to Rocky Ford's downtown and Valdez said it was being done partially in a revitalization effort, but also due to the current building needing so much repair. New construction was more feasible from a financial standpoint, and the community will benefit from the improvement of the downtown parking and quality construction, according to Valdez.

The new bank will also include a drive through, as well as the same great staff and service to the community, Valdez said.
