Plays in The Park - Youth Led Theatre Casting Wizard of Oz

Description: Youth Theater to hold casting for first production, The Wizard of Oz at New La Junta Livewell Park on Santa Fe Avenue.

This summer, High School Seniors Bethany Taullie and Birdget Briscoe will be putting on and directing the musical "The Wizard of Oz" through their youth-led theatre company "Plays in the Park". Auditions will be held May 20th-21st, from 12-2pm.

All auditions, rehearsals, and production dates will be located at the La Junta Livewell Park on Santa Fe Avenue. For auditions, actors will be expected to come prepared with the audition form, a one minute song of their choice, and the common audition song (If I only had a Heart or Somewhere over the Rainbow). Auditions forms and more specific information about the audition process can be located at the Plays in the Park facebook page (playsinthepark2).

This production is open to actors ages 10-20. However, if your actor is below the age requirement and would like to audition, they will be considered. The directors are more concerned with maturity than age. Rehearsals will begin May 30th, and will be held from 3-5pm from Monday to Friday. This does not mean actors will be needed everyday; this will depend on roles and scenes being rehearsed for that day. Production dates will be held July 15-17th at 3pm.
