Otero County Commissioners Meeting 8/8/22

The Otero County Commissioners approved their previous meeting minutes as well as their bills and payroll as part of their consent agenda on Monday afternoon.

They approved two liquor license renewals, one for Felisha's Mexican Restaurant and one for the La Junta Golf Course/The Fairway - City of La Junta.

The commissioners approved the 4th amendment to the contract with SM Construction. Essentially, the amendment added the North and South Parking Lot Repairs adding $13,915 worth of improvements to the single-entry point and magistrates office construction project, and brought the total project expense to $892,891, which is still under budget, according to Otero County Administrator Amy White-Tanabe.

White-Tanabe reported on the Otero County Sales Taxes for May, 2022.

White-Tanabe announced the contractors who have applied and qualified for the design of the Otero County Detention Center and Otero Sheriff's Office Project. They will announce the winners September 26. With a start date of November 2022, White-Tanabe said the projected completion date is Spring of 2024.

The contractors who qualified to continue the selection process according to White-Tanabe are: Basset Construction of Pueblo, Bryan Construction of Colorado Springs, GH Phipps of Colorado Springs, Nunn Construction of Pueblo, and SM Construction of Fowler.

The Otero County Commissioners John Hostetler and Rob Oquist reported that they had attended several meetings and mentioned the chip and seal projects ongoing for Otero County.
