The Great Race Visits Lamar, Colorado 

Martin VROOM, 1932 Ford Coupe, Driven by Gary Martin, Navigated by Jean Ann Martin from Simpsonville, KY.

The People of Southeast Colorado were treated to over 100 classic cars visiting as part of the Hemmings Motor News Great Race. The race is a cross country road rally where driving teams compete to run on perfect schedule from start to finish. The Cars crossed the finish line in Colorado Springs on Sunday after staying overnight in Pueblo after stopping in Lamar for lunch. The Great Race stopped for lunch in Lamar, Colorado Saturday Afternoon and enjoyed a popup market of vendors and hundreds of spectators checking out the classic Iron. Over 100 cars were on display in Lamar much to the joy of many spectators. 

The tour went winding down the back highways through Cheraw and Rocky Ford with lots of chrome and promotional stickers on display. We have highlighted some of the teams and vehicles that completed in the 2023 Hemmings Motor News Great Race.
