La Junta Senior Golf League - Results for July 25, 2023

It was sizzling before we got done but 48 senior golfers participated in the weekly La Junta Senior Golf League at the La Junta Golf Course.  Two new players were introduced, David Stewart and Dan McCue. Janet Golding was recognized and awarded for her successful Challenge Chip from last week.

This week we broke up into 8 teams of five players and 2 teams of four players. We played a regular scramble format, but there were also bonus putting challenges on five holes (everyone had a chance to hole the putt on those greens).  The total number of bonus putts the team members made were subtracted from the team’s scramble score.

Tie for 1st place, Both teams scored 29 on the scramble, 4 bonus putts = 25

We will meet again next Tuesday, August 1, for another senior golf game. We will again use a scramble format, however special putting chances on all birdies and eagles made will be reflected.  Registration will begin at 8:15 – 8:30 a.m. Teams are picked at 8:45 and no players can be added after that.  Call 719-469-0691 if you are going to be late for registration. Play will begin at approximately 9:00 a.m.
