La Junta Senior Golf League - Results for Sept 5, 2023

The La Junta Senior Golf League met on Tuesday, September 5, with 39 golfers in attendance. The format was a 9-hole scramble with each player getting to toss the golf ball one time during the 9 holes to better their team’s score. It definitely gave us some low scores and some ties. We split up into nine teams (six teams with 4 players, four teams with 5 players). We had a challenge chip on hole # 5 in the sand trap; no one was able to get that chip.  Making the challenge putt on hole #7 was Frank McKenzie, Mackie O’Neal, and Clark Claycomb.

1st Place: Score of 25

We will meet again next week, Tuesday, September 12, for another round of golf.  We will play a scramble format with a chance to lower the score with a toss of the ball. Registration will be 8:15 – 8:30 a.m. Teams are picked at 8:45 and no players can be added after that.  Call 719-469-0691 if you are going to be late for registration but will be in time to tee off. Play will begin at approximately 9:00 a.m.
