Photos of balloons at sunrise in Rocky Ford have been popular since the first Arkansas Valley Balloon Festival in 1989, that doesn't stop the People of Southeast Colorado from returning each November for the Colorful Colorado spectacle.

Ballonists from across the region including Colorado Springs and New Mexico attend the annual event in the sweet melon capitol of the world. 

Balloons took flight over Rocky Ford on Saturday, but windy conditions Sunday morning kept them grounded. A large crowd gathered for photos while the pilots inflated their balloons for a static display.
