Obituary

Charles Raymond Moore, 88, passed away on November 15, 2020 at his La Junta home. He was born on January 12, 1932 in Kansas City, Missouri to Raymond & Viola (Nelson) Moore.

Charles worked at Fort Lyon VA Medical center for 35 years doing social work. He enjoyed working on cars. Charles served in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean Conflict. He was an avid reader and was fluent in five languages. Charles spent the last 14 years with his special friend, Sara Harper, and shared many good times & memories with her. Charles enjoyed helping others; loved his family and spending time with them and will be greatly missed by all that knew him.

He is survived by his daughter, Melissa Kirkpatrick of Denver; grandchildren, Kaitlyn Gansukh, Rhiannon Kirkpatrick & Trevor Kirkpatrick; great-grandchildren, Gianna Gansukh & Logan Gansukh.

He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Kathy Moore.

As per Charles’s request cremation has taken place and services will be held at a later date.

Peacock-Larsen Funeral Home & Arkansas Valley Crematory is in charge of arrangements.
