"After considering a great number of points and recommendations from leadership at all levels throughout the state, I am directing the Las Animas City Hall to close at 5:00 PM on December 4th, 2020 until a period to be determined to direct contact with the community. While this decision is a difficult one to make, it is in the best interest of the community members and the employees of the City of Las Animas and I believe it is truly necessary to help reduce the spread of the COVID-19 Virus. The staff will be present and working at a reduced capacity, and will remain available for other methods of contact including online payments, messages dropped online through Facebook, telephone and use of the physical drop box at City Hall for applications and/or messages as well. We will be maintaining a constant watch at the various methods listed and will do our best to respond as promptly as possible to ensure there is no lapse in any service provided to the community. We also will keep the community posted on this as this rapidly evolving situation changes."
