Velda F. Martinez

Velda F. Martinez, 82 of La Junta passed away December 1, 2020. Velda was born on June 10, 1938 in La Junta Colorado. Proceeded in death by her loving parents. Ferman L. Jerby and Vera Depue Jerby-Miller and her husband of 52 years, Ronald J. Martinez.

Velda married Ronald J. Martinez in Raton, New Mexico in 1956, to that union of marriage she had three children.

She lived in La Junta her whole life and made her career with La Junta School District as a baker. She has many friends in La Junta and enjoyed going to the First Church of God. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

Velda is survived by her three children, Rhonda Karney, Tamrah Amos and her Son Curtis Martinez and his wife Shelly; two grandsons, Tyler Karney and his wife Kashley & Connor Martinez; two granddaughters, Loren Mink and her husband Billy & Logan Davis and her husband Zach; five great-grandchildren, Krew, Kwade and Tenley Karney, Hailee Mae Mink and Kate Taylor Davis; and many relatives and friends.

Her services will be postponed until summer; hopefully at a safer time to celebrate her life.
