Registration is open for Spring Semester EMS Courses at OJC

LA JUNTA — Registration is currently open for the Emergency Medical Services (EMS) program at Otero Junior College for Spring semester. The semester begins on Jan. 11, 2021. Students can schedule an appointment with an advisor by calling 719-384-6946.

The one semester EMS program prepares the graduate to perform pre-hospital care including assessments, skills and transportation for clients suffering from traumatic injury or other medical emergencies. It includes both the Basic EMT and Intermediate EMT levels.

Successful completion of the OJC emergency medical training program qualifies graduates to apply for EMT Basic certification through the National Registry for Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT) and EMT Intermediate certification through the Colorado Department of Public Health & Environment (CDPHE).

OJC is committed to following our local health guidelines to keep our students, staff and community safe, while providing the skills-based education to test for EMS certification.

To register before Spring Semester starts on Jan. 11, 2021, new students can apply to OJC on the OJC website then register for courses and advising by calling Hailey Wold at 719-384-6946.
