Obituary


Janine Rachelle Pilloud-Woodruff, “Shellie”, was born to Dorothy and Paul Pilloud in Brush, Colorado on March 12th, 1959. Shellie passed away in her home located in La Junta, Colorado on November 26th, 2020.

Shellie was married 3 times during her life and had two daughters. Shellie lived most of her life in Colorado. She was very proud to be a Coloradoan. As a young child Shellie lived in Two Buttes, Colorado with her parents and siblings. Shellie also got to grow up in Steamboat Springs, Colorado where she graduated high school and where she met her first husband Stephen Marshall. They moved to Grand Junction, Colorado and that is where she gave birth to her first daughter, Stephie Marshall. Shellie and Stephen moved back to Steamboat Springs and that is where Shellie gave birth to her second daughter Stacey Marshall. She later met Kyle Yonkees and the two were married in La Junta. The couple then moved to Virginia Beach, Virginia where Shellie lived as a military wife. Later Shellie injured her back and retired. Her retirement consisted of being a homemaker as she raised her two daughters, along with making a positive impact on the lives of not only her children, but many of their friends as well. Shellie later moved back to La Junta where she met Scott Woodruff. Together they helped and supported numerous people going through addiction recovery.

She loved her family dearly and cherished her grandbabies. In her younger years she was very crafty. She was also an amazing cook and loved sharing her passion with her children and grandbabies. Some of her hobbies consisted of being a die-hard Denver Bronco fan, as well as a the Walking Dead, and was an administrator of multiple groups online. Shellie was an old school hippie and loved music. She loved to share music with her kids and her children's friends. She was a very loving and sensitive person. Shellie will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved her.

Shellie is survived by her husband Scott Woodruff of the La Junta home; children, Stephie (Grant) Marshall-McVay of Wellington, CO; Stacey (Zeke) Ayala of La Junta, CO; Jessica DiGiacomo, Pamela Woodruff, and Steven Woodruff; grandchildren, Ayla McVay, Ayden McVay, Thomas Martinez; Sicily Ayala, Sophie Ayala, Zeta Mills, Maximus Mills, Elijah Ayala, Anakin Ayala, and Violet Ayala; along with all the many children she fostered, influenced and helped raise over the years; siblings, Tom (Deb) Powell, Tim (Candy) Powell, and Sam (Gina) Pilloud; numerous nieces and nephews also survive. Shellie is preceded in death by her parents; infant brother, Chris Powell; and her best friend, David.

As per Shellie’s request cremation has taken place and there are no services planned at this time.
