Otero County Commissioners Hold Farwell Zoom Party For Keith Goodwin

It was a large audience over Zoom, at least 25 people attended the meeting. Including La Junta City Mayor Jeffri Pryun, Steven Cordova representing Total Concept,  and several representatives from Colorado Counties Incorporated spoke fondly of serving with Goodwin.

"You are quick to turn a celebration recognizing you to a celebration recognizing us...which is one of your great traits as a leader," Gini Pingenot with CCI said.

Goodwin, spoke of how critical it was to have a good sense of humor, and spoke of many pleasant memories during his 12 year run, "it was a great run" Goodwin said.

Goodwin's wife, Rebecca Goodwin was also able to attend the surprise meeting for County Commissioner Keith Goodwin. 

Otero County Commissioner Keith Goodwin spoke of his years of service as Otero County Commissioner. 

Tony Hass took a moment to thank Goodwin for his efforts protecting Pinon Canyon.

Former La Junta Mayor Lynn Horner complimented Goodwin's service by saying he "used his creativity in ways that have definitely benefitted our county"

Mark and Kim MacDonnell from Bent County also commended Goodwin for his many years of service, Mark MacDonnell said, "It was a pleasure working with you the whole way through."

Tammy and Cody Ridennoure from the Rocky Ford School District, said that Goodwin was always able to see the big picture and put the community first.

"I know that you are leaving the county in much better shape, and have some fun," Ridennoure said.

Goodwin joked that this was his third and last retirement and he was going to start learning to live on a fixed income. His wife had no comment, but was all smiles.
