Sales tax revenues continue to move in our favor, White-Tanabe said.
Public Trustee Report
No Foreclosures Reported this quarter, according to Otero County Treasurer Dennis Smith.
Treasurer's Report
Interest earned on investments for 2020 was 228,550.50, according to Smith. He said it was the highest that he has ever reported. Smith said they had a lot of response to tax notices sent out over the weekend. 60 were received in person and 35-40 were received by mail, according to Smith.
The Otero County Commissioners Approved the public trustee's report and the semi-annual report.
In regards to the most recent covid business relief grant, 13 grant applications have been received according to Otero County Economic Development Director Danelle Berg.
According to Otero County Clerk and Recorder Lynn Scott, beginning February 1st the Otero County Clerks Office is open to walk-ins. Renew your license plates without an appointment.
Tax payments can be left in the voting box until March 15th. Include name, phone number, and destination office.
County Administrator White-Tanabe spoke excitedly about the Restoration of the Masonic Lodge in La Junta.
Rob met with Sabrea, he reported that it was very interesting, and he heard how Covid has affected our Junior College athletics.
Sage reported that they appreciated all of the help from the Community, they had a much better month than recent months, according to Oquist.
Hostetler reported the Lower Arkansas Valley Water Conservancy Board met and re-elected their previous officers for another term.
