SANTA FE TRAIL DAY ART SHOW WINNERS

Bent County Art Guild and the John W. Rawlings Heritage Center and Museum are proud to announce the winners from their 15th Annual Santa Fe Trail Day Art Show which ended May 8th at the Rawlings Heritage Center. 

Adult entries were not judged this year, due to the pandemic, but the student entries were judged by the Bent County Art Guild members. 

Student winners were High School:  Samuel Sellers 1st Place and Best of Show; Pencil - 1st and 2nd place, Bella Thomas; 3rd place Samuel Sellers. 

Mixed – 1st Samuel Sellers, 2nd Ana Cleghorn, 3rd Samuel Sellers.  Colored pencil – 1st Samuel Sellers, 2nd Emma Russell.  Ink – 1st Samuel Sellers, 2nd Kilby Wolf.  Marker – 1st Monique Maes.  Clay – 1st Ari Werick, 2nd Caden Morlan.  Wire- Elephant (no name), 2nd Flamingo Ari Werick; 3rd Hummingbird – Roper Nichols.  Eggs – 1st Mayla Jimenez, 2nd Frank Levate, 3rd Landy Z. 

We were proud to have the following adult artists participate:  NON-PRO OILS AND ACRYLICS:   Dianna Robinson had six entries:  Memaw (Church), Memaw (Chickens), Memaw (Bath), Memaw (Fishing), Memaw (Garden), and Memaw (Dancing).  Debbie Phillips had one entry – Rooster.  Linda Bourne had two entries – Regal and Tatanka.  MacKenzie King had three entries – Wonder, Make Your Own Color, and Saturn.  Kimberlie D. King had nine entries - Shades of Green, Meadow, Serene, Calm, Crisp, Refresh, Tranquil, Serenity, and Hello World.  Kelly Rine Young had four entries – Blue, Solace, Glow, and Window. 

NON-PRO WATERCOLORS had one entry Sarah Frausto with Butterfly.  PRO PHOTOGRAPHY Gordon (Shorty) Schockey had three entries with Patience, Standing Tall Through It All, and Night Rider. 

NON-PRO PHOTOGRAPHY - Debbie Phillips one entry with The Kiva.  Sue Keefer with seven entries - Viewing the Present Through the Past, Autumn Blooms, Great Blue Heron, Comanche Ruin, Welcome to My Leaf, Frosted Windowpane, Happy Pollinator, and Swimming Pelican. 

PRO SCULPTURE AND 3 DIMENSIONAL:  Bill Bunting with two entries, Praise and Hummingbird and Sarah Frausto with 3D.  Dianna Robinson entered the VFW Auxiliary Diorama which promotes donations to the VFW National Home and the Poppy Drives. 

Santa Fe Trail Art Guild Peoples Choice Linda Bourne Buffalo SECO NEWS SECONEWS.ORG We are delighted to announce the People’s Choice Award went to Linda Bourne for her picture of the buffalo. 

We were proud to see many artists participate and thank them for their entries.  We thank all those that stopped by to see the show, and we hope that next year we will be back on track for a regular judged art show and Wine and Cheese Event to celebrate the artists.
