3 Vehicle Accident at US Hwy 50 and Hwy 71 in Rocky Ford 4/26/22
The Rocky Ford Police Department released the following on the social media:
At approximately 11:30 am today we were paged to a 3 vehicle accident on the intersection of HWY 50 and HWY 71.
Upon arrival we found a sedan under a trash truck with one driver trapped in critical condition.
We quickly started extrication rescue operations to remove the male party from the vehicle and requested Flight for Life to respond.
All lanes of traffic were blocked to support first responders rescue operations and clear a landing zone for Flight for Life.
Patient was extricated from the vehicle and transported by Flight for Life to Parkview Medical Center.
Another driver of one of the other vehicles was transported to AVRMC with minor injuries. No other injuries were reported at this time. Cause of the accident is being investigated by CSP. All fire units cleared at 1:05 pm.
