LJFD VS North LJ Fire Caused by Burning Trash 5/1/22

"At approx 2:04 pm today we responded to a fire in the 300 blk of Ash in North La Junta. Upon arrival a large fire was burning between two houses and a very large pile of cut trees. A quick fire knock down of the fire at the one house prevented it from burning the house more. Hose lines were deployed around the fire to help contain it. Foam was used to extinguish the trees and logs."

"No injuries were noted. The cause of the fire was from burning trash in the backyard in a non approved container and it spread to the neighboring property."

"Mutual Aid was called in from Cheraw Volunteer Fire Department to assist with water supply."
