Obituary

Agnes Roybal of Rocky Ford, Colorado was called to her Eternal Loving Home on June 15, 2022.

She was born in Chaparrito, New Mexico and spent her childhood and young adult life in New Mexico. She met Dad (Ruben) at a dance and they fell in love. They soon married and later moved to Rocky Ford Colorado where they settled and began their family.

She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, nina, and friend to so so many. Until she was no longer able, she was an active member of St. Peter’s Catholic Church where she served as a member of St Anthony’s Women's Circle. She very much enjoyed singing and belonged to the choir at the church for several years. She enjoyed walks, riding the stationary bike, and reading her daily devotionals.

People asked how she lived so long and looked so young; well, it had to have been her eagerness to stay active, the oil of olay that she used, her joyful and positive attitude, and most definitely her Love and Devotion to our Heavenly Father. Agnes was always joyful and full of life. She loved when she would have visitors and was quite the social butterfly (no surprise she loved the colorful butterflies).

She was always full of old tales and loved to joke around. She went through a phase where she would smack you on the forehead and then say “you could have had a V-8.”

“Her children arise and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her: Many women do noble things, but you surpass them all. Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who fears the LORD is to be praised. Give her the reward she has earned, and let her works bring her praise at the City Gate.”  Proverbs 31 28-31. MOM, you are forever in our hearts and will always be loved and cherished. Enjoy your Heavenly Home!!!

She was the Loving Mother of Gloria (Roger) Wilson, Anna Mae (Bill) Rivera-Gray, Dennis Roybal, Rita (Robert) Sanchez, and Raymond Roybal. She had 16 grandchildren (Jesse, Viola, Elisha, Isaiah, Joshua, Joseph, Anson, Andrew, Rebekah, Christopher, David, Julian, Michael, Alyssa, Ayden, and Keirdyn. She had 10 great grandchildren (Marcos, Gloria, Damien, Anthony Joseph, Isabelle, Georgie, Tristianna, Callahan, Raymond, and Exodus). She had one great great grandchild (Balthazar).

She was preceded in death by her husband (Ruben Roybal), son (Anthony Roybal), daughter (Beatrice Tafoya), son-in-law (Phil Rivera), parents (Isidro and Antonia Lucero), brother (Ben Lucero), sister (Vicki Cook),and baby brother (Rumaldo Lucero).
