LJPD Apprehends Alleged Parole Violator

On 6-28-2022 at approximately 1852 hours officers with the La Junta Police Department were dispatched to 1504 E. 6th St. Apt. G, for the report of a wanted fugitive. An officer arrived and saw Raymond Duran enter into a vehicle, which proceeded to leave the parking lot.

The officer began to follow the vehicle when it pulled over and stopped. Mr. Duran exited the vehicle and fled on foot. An Officer pursued Mr. Duran on foot, and saw him enter a residence. A perimeter around the residence was quickly established.

A search warrant was obtained for the residence, which Mr. Duran fled into. Officers executed the search warrant of the residence and Mr. Duran was taken into custody without incident. Mr. Duran had an outstanding, no bond, felony warrant from the Colorado Department of Corrections Fugitive Extradition Unit for a parole violation.
