Lamar Fire Department VS Fence & Garage Fire

On July 19th at 2134 Lamar Fire was dispatched to Memorial Drive for a fence on fire. Engine 5 and Engine 6 responded to the area.

While responding Prowers County Communications advised that the fence on fire had spread into a garage and was now a reported structure fire.  Engine 5 entered the alleyway from the North and found a two car detached garage with fire showing from the South side and smoke showing from the roof.

Engine 6 entered the alleyway from the South Side and reported that F-3 (Captain Cook) will have command. Both Engine 5 and Engine 6 pulled a 1.75” attack lines and darkened the fire from outside the structure.

As crews arrived firefighters made entry into the garage and found light smoke conditions.  The fire was quickly extinguished, crews then performed salvage and overhaul. The trucks that responded are Engine 5, Engine 6, Engine 2, Truck 1, Rescue 1, Med 3, Med 2, FRU 2, and FRU 3.

Please note that this fire was not associated to the power outage Lamar and other towns were experiencing that evening.
