Obituary

Virginia Lee Goodwin Wood, entered into rest August 4, 2022 in Pueblo Colorado. She was born August 24th 1947 to Troy and Ellen (Hodge) Goodwin. She was 74 years of age.

Virginia is survived by her sisters Judy Goodwin Wisemon & Toni (Randy) Goodwin-Klungseth. Children- Shirley (Mark) Montañez, Jennifer Thomas, Leslie “Buster” Thomas & (Debbie Peters)Thomas & Breckley Ron Wood. Grandchildren, Morgan Montañez, Melissa Montanez - Nascimento (Adriano Nascimento) Jay Duarte, Arianna Thomas, Clayton, Tyler, & Trevor Peters. Great grandchildren are Gracie, Kinley, Sam, Richard, Landon & her bonus grandchildren are Aiden, Eli, Owen, and Haley. She loved them all! She had 2 marriages. Married Leslie Thomas March 1970- 1976 Married Ronnie Wood Nov. 1982 -1984

She was a 1979 Graduate of Lamar Community College specialization Cosmetology & in 1986 Applied Science degree from Otero Junior College in LaJunta with an emphasis in Early Childhood Education. She had a passion for sewing and cooking.

One could always count on her bringing her grandmother’s handed down recipe of macaroni and cheese casserole to any family function! She loved her children and grandchildren & loved the lord! She was a born again Christian! Her favorite bible passages were Deuteronomy 28 12 & John 3:16.

When she was small her Aunt Eddie took her to church and her Aunt Lois & uncle Ernie, helped her in her teen years to know Jesus. At 16, she and her dad were baptized at same time in 1963 and Given a plan of salvation! Thank you for your love and friendship, Be not afraid! She’s with her savior and hopes to see you all again!

A Graveside Celebration will be held Wednesday August 10th 2022 at 11:00 A.M. Followed by picnic at the La Junta city park pavilion Online Condolences and shared Memories can be made at johnsonromero.com
