8/6/2022

Deputies conducted a voluntary contact with a female party at 5th street and Carson Avenue in Las Animas, Colorado. Deputies cleared after speaking with the party.

Deputies responded to the 300 block of St. Vrain Ave in Las Animas, Colorado on a report of a burglary. Nothing was stolen, the party just wanted to be placed on the watch list due to someone trying to get into their garage.

Deputies responded to the 300 block of 6th St. in Las Animas, Colorado on a report of a suspicious person. Deputies spoke with the party and the party left the area. 

Deputies responded to the 700 block of 5th St. in Las Animas, Colorado to assist the ambulance. The patient was loaded and transported to the hospital in La Junta.

Deputies responded to the 700 block of Locust Ave in Las Animas, Colorado on a report of a suspicious person. Deputies patrolled the area and were unable to locate the suspected party.

Deputies responded to the 30000 block of CR 15 to assist the ambulance. Due to another call, deputies had to leave the scene. 

Deputies responded to highway 50 and mile post 414 on a report of a reckless driver. Deputies were unable to locate the suspected vehicle.

Deputies responded to the 600 block of Ash Ave in Las Animas, Colorado on a report of animal abuse. When deputies arrived, the animal was in no harm.

Deputies responded to the 700 block of Park Ave in Las Animas, Colorado on a report of a suspicious person. Deputies located the person and gave him a courtesy ride to La Junta. 

Deputies received a call to the 600 block of Grove Avenue in Las Animas, Colorado to check on a controlled burn. Deputies advised dispatch that everything was okay. 

Deputies received a call from dispatch to respond to the Sheriff's Office to speak with a male party about damaged property. Deputies advised the party since the incident happened in another county he would have to file a report there. 

Deputies received a call for trespassing at the 1000 block of county road G in McClave, Colorado. Deputies are investigating. 

Deputies received a call to respond to the 400 block of Vigil Avenue in Las Animas, Colorado for a burglar alarm. Deputies determined everything to be okay. 

While patrolling deputies observed an open door to a residence at the 600 block of Saint Vrain Avenue. Deputies announced themselves and determined everything was okay, and the owner just wanted to sit in the dark. 

Deputies conducted a check on an abandoned residence due to the front door being open at the 300 block of 3rd Street in McClave. Deputies determined everything to be okay. 

8/7/2022

Deputies responded to the area of Hwy 101 and MM 1 for a report of a horse out. When deputies arrived, the owner had the horse back in the pasture.

Deputies responded to the 300 block of 5th St for the report of a burglary alarm. When deputies arrived, everything was secure and okay.

Deputies responded to the 200 block of 6th St to assist ambulance personnel.

Deputies responded to the 300 block of Lois Ave for mental health questions. Deputies answered the questions about mental health and gave the phone number for the crisis hotline.

Deputies responded to the 300 block of 5th St for ambulance assistance. Deputies assisted ambulance personnel.

Deputies responded to the 600 block of 4th St for a burglary alarm. Deputies checked the residence and determined everything was okay. The alarm was set off by lightning near the residence.

Deputies responded to the area of Hwy 50 and County Road 34 for a vehicle slide off. Deputies assisted with traffic control.

Deputies responded to the area of Hwy 50 and County Road 32 for debris in the highway.  Deputies assisted Hasty/McClave Fire Dept and CDOT in clearing the roadway.

Deputies responded to the 700 block of Bent Avenue in Las Animas, Colorado for the report of dogs on the loose. Deputies were unable to locate the dogs.

Deputies responded to Highway 50 and MM 423 in McClave, Colorado for the report of debris on the highway. The debris was cleared from the highway when deputies arrived on scene.

Deputies responded to the 200 block of Bent Avenue in Las Animas, Colorado for the report of suspicious activity. After further investigation, deputies determined that everything was okay.

Deputies responded to the area of Highway 50 and MM 420 to 423 for the report of a 911 misdial. Deputies were unable to locate the individual that placed the call.

8/8/2022

Deputies responded to the 1400 block of Ambassador Thompson Boulevard for the report of suspicious activity. Deputies were unable to locate anyone.

Deputies responded to the 500 block of Moore Ave for a welfare check.  Deputies spoke with the party and determined everything was okay.

Deputies responded to the 500 block of 5th St for a report of burglary. When deputies arrived, it was the resident who was cleaning his house. Everything was determined to be okay.

Deputies responded to the 30000 block of Highway 50 for a vin inspection.

Deputies responded to the 1000 block of Maple for a family disturbance. Deputies investigated and determined it to be a civil matter.

Deputies responded to the 600 block of Ash for a party with an active warrant. Deputies arrested the party and transported the party to the Bent County Jail.

Deputies responded to the 900 block of Ash for an unattended death. Deputies assisted the Bent County Coroner.

Deputies responded to the 300 block of Grove for a child exchange. Deputies responded and conducted a civil standby.

Deputies responded to the 600 block of Maple for a party riding a four-wheeler. Deputies were unable to locate the party.

Deputies responded to the 600 block of Maple for a civil dispute. Deputies spoke with both parties and came to a civil agreement.

Deputies responded to the 11000 block of County Road GG.5 in Las Animas, Colorado for the report of harassment. Deputies took a statement.

Deputies responded to the intersection of County Road JJ and County Road 21 for an agency assist. Deputies assisted Colorado State Patrol.

Deputies responded to the 900 block of 9th Street in Las Animas, Colorado for the report of an unattended death. Deputies assisted the Coroner's Office.

8/9/2022

Deputies responded to the 300 block of Elm for a report of a dog at large.The owner took ownership of the dog. 

Deputies responded to the 400 block of 3rd street for a dog at large. The dog was in the yard with the owner.

Deputies responded to the limb pile near the golf course for a disturbance. Deputies spoke with all parties involved and it determined it was a civil issue.

Deputies responded to the 100 block of Vigil for ambulance assistance. Deputies assisted ambulance personnel.

Deputies responded to the 500 block of Bent Ave for a vehicle unlock. Deputies unlocked the vehicle.

Deputies were notified to respond to the 8000 block of County Road BB.5 for suspicious activity.  Deputies responded and located the vehicle unoccupied.

Deputies responded to the 300 block of Maple Avenue in Las Animas, Colorado for the report of a juvenile issue. After further investigation, both parties came to a civil agreement.

Deputies responded to 1st Street in Las Animas, Colorado for the report of a juvenile problem. Deputies determined that everything was okay.

Deputies responded to the 500 block of Oakland Avenue in Las Animas, Colorado for a report of a possible weapons offence. Deputies took a statement.

Deputies responded to the 500 block of Peck Avenue in Las Animas, Colorado for an ambulance assist. Deputies assisted EMS with the patient.

Deputies responded to the 30000 block of County Road 15 in Fort Lyon, Colorado for an ambulance assist. Deputies assisted EMS with the patient.

Deputies responded to the 700 block of Grand Avenue in Las Animas, Colorado for the report of suspicious activity. Deputies were unable to locate the individual.

8/10/2022

Deputies responded to the 800 block of 3rd street for the report of a snake. Deputies captured and released the snake in the wild.

Deputies responded to the 700 block of Park Ave on a report of a burglary alarm. It was a false alarm as the wrong code was entered. 

Deputies responded to the 300 block of Carson Avenue to assist with the ambulance. Deputies assisted ambulance personnel and the party was transported to the hospital.

Deputies responded to the 100 block of Locust Ave on a report of public disturbance. This is a civil issue and advised the parties involved. 

Deputies responded to the 11000 block of CR GG.5 for a report of harassment. Deputies investigated the issue. 

Deputies responded to the 400 block of Garfield Avenue for a report of a dog. Deputies cleared after they were unable to locate the dog.

Deputies responded to the 1100 block of Bent Ave on a report of a burglary alarm. Deputies found this to be a false alarm. 

Deputies responded to highway 50 and CR 15 on a report of a reckless driver. Deputies were unable to locate the vehicle. 

Deputies responded to the 600 block of St. Vrain Avenue in Las Animas for the report of a civil problem. Deputies advised the reporting party he needed to contact the courts.

Deputies responded to the 500 block of Bent Ave on a report of theft. Deputies investigated and took one party into custody.  

8/11/2022

Deputies responded to the 11000 block of county road F.75 in Las Animas for the report of damaged property. Deputies talked to the reporting party, warning deputies to be aware of the situation. 

Deputies responded to the 11000 block of CR GG.5 on a report of drugs found. Deputies are investigating the issue. 

Deputies responded to the 100 block of Vigil Avenue in Las Animas for the need of medical assistance. Deputies helped lift the reporting party.

Deputies received a call for possible domestic violence in the 800 block of Ambassador Thompson. Deputies spoke to the resident and determined everything was okay. 

Deputies received a call for a possible domestic violence in the 800 block of Ambassador Thompson in Las Animas. Deputies arrested one party. 

Deputies responded to the 400 block of Carson for the report of reckless driver. The vehicle sped off leading deputies on a pursuit. One individual was taken into custody and transported to the Bent County Jail.

Deputies responded to the 11000 block of County road F.75 Avenue in Las Animas for the report of medical assistance. Deputies help load the patients.

Deputies responded to the 600 block of Ash Avenue in Las Animas for the report of property damage. Deputies are still investigating the matter. 

Deputies responded to the 100 block of Vigil Avenue in Las Animas for the report of medical assistance. Deputies help lift the patients.

Deputies responded to the 300 block of Grand Avenue for a report of a control burn in the area. Deputies cleared as there was no burning in the area.

Deputies responded to the 600 block of McBride Ave on a report of a 911 hang up. Deputies contacted the parties involved and found this to be a misdial. 

Deputies responded to the 30000 block of CR 15 to assist the ambulance. The party was loaded on the ambulance and transported to the hospital in La Junta. 

Deputies responded to Bent Ave on a report of a dangerous driver. Deputies patrolled the area and were unable to locate the driver. 

Deputies responded to John Martin for a vehicle lockout. Deputies cleared after the vehicle was unlocked.

Deputies responded to highway 50 and milepost 407 on a report of a reckless driver. Deputies found this to be caused by a medical issue. 

Deputies responded to the 1000 block of Bent Ave on a report of a theft. Deputies are investigating this incident. 

Deputies responded to the 300 block of Vine Avenue in Las Animas for the report of Burglary. Deputies were unable to locate any activity.

Deputies responded to the highway 101 mile marker 9 in Las Animas for the report of livestock out. Deputies were able to get the livestock back in..

Deputies responded to the 600 block of Bent Avenue in Las Animas for the report of suspicious activity. Deputies were unable to locate any activity.

8/12/2022

Deputies responded to the 13000 block of county road HH in Las Animas for a report of a traffic problem. Deputies conducted traffic control.

Deputies responded to the 900 block of Vine in Las Animas for suspicious activity. Deputies were unable to locate any activity. 

Deputies responded to highway 50 and county road 25 for a report of a cow on the road. Deputies were unable to locate the cow.

Deputies responded to the 26000 block of CR 28 on a report of a sex assault. Deputies are investigating the issue. 

Deputies responded to the 500 block of Peck Ave on a report of a burglary alarm. Deputies checked the residence and found the alarm to be false. 

Deputies responded to the Keller area for a report of a fire. Deputies were unable to locate the land owner; the fire was out when deputies arrived on scene.

Deputies responded to the 8000 block of highway 50 on a report of a horse on the highway. Deputies responded and the horse was brought back to the owner. 

Deputies responded to the highway 101 and MM 9 in Las Animas for the report of stolen property. Deputies investigated the matter and found the property in the next field.

Deputies responded to the 400 block of Ambassador Thompson Blvd. in Las Animas for the report of a line down. Deputies contact Las Animas Light and Power.

Deputies responded to the 200 block of 6th Street in Las Animas for the report of a medical assist. Deputies assisted in lifting the patient. 

Deputies responded to Carson and 6th Street in Las Animas for the report of a verbal argument in progress. Parties had left before deputies arrived.

Deputies responded to the 900 block of Poplar Avenue in Las Animas for the report of suspicious activity. Deputies were unable to locate any activity.
