8/13/2022

Deputies responded to Lake Hasty Campgrounds for an unattended fire. Fire was out before Deputies arrived.

Deputies contacted a vehicle in the 30000 block of County Road 24 for suspicious activity. The vehicle was just looking for a place to fish.

Deputies responded to the 500 block of Poplar Avenue in Las Animas for the report of a suspicious person. Deputies were able to locate the person and advised them to stay out of other people's property.

Deputies responded to the 300 block of 11th St. for drug paraphernalia that was found. Deputies took custody of the property and disposed of it properly. 

Deputies responded to the 41000 block of CR 34 for a welfare check. Deputies found everything to be okay.

Deputies responded to the 1200 block of Ambassador Thompson Blvd for a fire alarm. Deputies responded and found it to be a false alarm. 

Deputies responded to the 1700 block of 8th St on a report of an animal attack. Deputies were unable to locate the dog in question.  

Deputies responded to the 100 block of school Street in Hasty for an animal call. Deputies were able to remove the snake from the house.

Deputies conducted a business check in the 300 block of 4th street in Las Animas. 

Deputies responded to the Lake Hasty campground in Hasty for the report of 911 misdial. Deputies were unable to locate the party

Deputies responded to the Lake Hasty campground in Hasty for the report of a stop sign down. Deputies moved the stop sign off the road and let the Park Ranger know.

Deputies responded to the 400 block of Vine Avenue in Las Animas for the report of a civil matter. Deputies were able to give the party information on how to handle the situation correctly. 

Deputies were advised of an in custody death in Otero County. Deputies assisted with the investigation. 

8/14/2022

Deputies responded to the 1100 block of 11th Street in Las Animas for the report of a suspicious vehicle. Deputies were unable to locate the vehicle.

Deputies responded to the 600 block of Ash Avenue in Las Animas for the report of a 911 misdial. Deputies were unable to locate any activity.

Deputies responded to the 900 block of Ash for an open 911 line. When deputies arrived and spoke with the residents, everything was okay; they accidentally dialed 911.

Deputies responded to Hwy 50 and MM 406 for a one vehicle accident. Deputies assisted Colorado State Patrol with traffic control.

Deputies responded to the 600 block of Locust for an ambulance assist. Deputies assisted ambulance personnel.

Deputies responded to the 11000 block of County Road GG.5 for a report of sexual assault. Deputies took a report and are investigating.

Deputies responded to the area of Hwy 101 and CR P for livestock out on the highway. Deputies put the livestock back in the pasture and secured the gate.

Deputies responded to the 500 block of Peck Ave for a burglary alarm. Everything was determined to be okay.

Deputies responded to the area of Hwy 50 and MM 406 for a reckless driver. Deputies were unable to locate the vehicle.

Deputies respond to the 600 block of Bent Ave for ambulance assistance. Deputies assisted ambulance personnel.

Deputies responded to the 600 block of St Vrain Avenue in Las Animas, Colorado for the report of found property. Deputies took the property to the Sheriff's Office.

Deputies responded to the intersection of 3rd Street and Garfield Avenue in Las Animas, Colorado for a report of livestock in the road. Deputies assisted the owners with the livestock.

Deputies responded to the 300 block of 6th Street in Las Animas, Colorado for the report of a violation of protection order. Deputies detained one male individual. 

Deputies responded to the 300 block of Maple Avenue in Las Animas, Colorado for an ambulance assist. Deputies assisted EMS personnel.

8/15/2022

Deputies responded to the 700 block of Grand Avenue in Las Animas, Colorado for the report of a suspicious vehicle. After attempting to locate the owner of the vehicle, deputies returned to the 700 block of Grand Ave and discovered that the vehicle was no longer there. 

Deputies responded to the area of Hwy 50 and MM 394 for a report of a reckless driver. Deputies located the vehicle, and the driver was given a verbal warning.

Deputies responded to the 100 block of 1st in McClave, Colorado for a burglary alarm. Deputies checked the area and buildings, and they determined everything was okay.

Deputies responded to the 600 block of Locust for ambulance assistance. Deputies assisted ambulance personnel.

Deputies responded to Hwy 50 and County Road 6.5 for debris in the highway. Deputies responded and cleared the debris off the highway.

Deputies responded to the 300 block of St. Vrain for a vicious dog. Deputies responded and spoke with both parties and determined the issue to be civil.

Deputies responded to the 300 block of Lois Ave for an animal attack. Deputies arrived, and spoke with the property owner about the wild animal attacking chickens.

Deputies responded to the 700 block of Bent Ave for a party with an active warrant. Deputies arrived, arrested the party, and transported them to the Bent County Jail.

Deputies responded to the 500 block of Peck Ave for a burglary alarm. Deputies arrived and spoke with the homeowner determining everything was okay.

Deputies responded to the 700 block of Locust for a domestic in progress. Deputies arrived on scene. After investigating, one party was placed under arrest and transported to the Bent County Jail.

Deputies responded to the 600 block of Vine Ave for damaged property.  Deputies took a report and are investigating.

Deputies responded to the 1000 block of Bent Ave for a party with an active warrant. Deputies found the party, arrested the party and transported the party to the Bent County Jail.

Deputies responded to the 41000 block of County Road 34 for a welfare check. Deputies spoke with the party and determined everything was okay.

Deputies responded to the 600 block of Vine Avenue for the report of an unwanted party in a residence. After further investigation, Deputies took one female party into custody and transported her to the Bent County Jail.

8/16/2022

Deputies responded to Hwy 194 and CR 7 for cows out on the highway. Deputies helped get the cows back in the pasture.

Deputies responded to Hwy 50 and MM 398 for a suspicious person. Deputies arrived and were unable to locate the party.

Deputies stopped a vehicle in the 900 block of Elm Ave. Deputies issued the driver a summons to court.

Deputies responded to the 300 block of Grove for a party with a warrant. Deputies confirmed the warrant, placed the party under arrest and transported the party to the Bent County Jail.

Deputies responded to the 700 block of Locust in Las Animas for a report of kittens in a dumpster. The kittens were removed from the dumpster.

Deputies responded to the 200 block of Locust Ave for a welfare check. Deputies spoke with all parties and determined everything was okay.

Deputies responded to 31000 block of County Road 15 for an ambulance assist. Deputies assisted ambulance personnel.

Deputies responded to the 1000 block of Ambassador Thompson for a fire alarm. Deputies determined it to be a false alarm.

Deputies responded to Highway 50 and Milepost 419 in McClave for the report of a dangerous driver. Deputies were unable to locate the individual.

Deputies received a call from an individual at the 41000 block of County Road 34 in McClave, Colorado for the report of a possible theft. Deputies are investigating.

Deputies responded to the 300 block of 6th street in Las Animas, Colorado for a burglar alarm. Deputies determined that it was a false alarm.

Deputies responded to the 300 block of Locust Avenue for an address verification.

8/17/2022

Deputies responded to Hwy 194 and CR 7 for livestock on the highway. Deputies assisted in putting livestock back into the pasture.

Deputies responded to the 700 block of Grand Avenue for a report of a dog on the neighbors property. The owner of the dog removed the dog from the property.

Deputies responded to the 700 block of Elm Avenue for a funeral escort to Fort Lyon Cemetery. Deputies cleared the escort.

Deputies assisted Aurora P.D. with gathering information on a person of interest.

Deputies responded to the 300 block of 5th St for a noise complaint. Deputies spoke with the party, and determined there was no noise ordinance during daylight hours.

Deputies responded to the 700 block of Grand Ave for a report of trespassing. Deputies arrived and were unable to determine who trespassed on the property.

Deputies responded to the 500 block of 10th St for a report of theft. Deputies responded and spoke with the parties and determined the issue to be civil.

Deputies responded to the area of 4th and Lois Ave for suspicious activity. Deputies were unable to locate any suspicious activity.

Deputies responded to the 200 block of 6th St for suspicious activity. Deputies spoke with parties and determined that no suspicious activity took place.

Deputies responded to highway 194 and MM 17 for a report of cattle out on the road. Deputies put the cattle back in the field. 

Deputies were dispatched to the 600 block of Locust Avenue for a disturbance. Deputies determined everything to be okay and cleared the scene. 

Deputies received a call to the 500 block of Poplar Avenue for a fire alarm. Deputies determined everything to be okay and cleared the scene. 

Deputies received a call for two missing juveniles that were last seen near the 500 block of Poplar Avenue. Deputies located the juveniles at the 700 block of 6th Street with their friends. 

Deputies responded to the 700 block of Grand Avenue in Las Animas, Colorado for the report of suspicious activity. Deputies were unable to locate any suspicious activity.

8/18/2022

Deputies responded to the 900 block of Ash for a report of a male party that felt dizzy. Deputies had Dispatch page for an ambulance and the party was transported to the hospital.

Deputies responded to the 800 block of 3rd street to assist the ambulance. The patient was loaded and transported to the hospital in La Junta. 

Deputies responded to the 30000 block of CR 10 to assist with the ambulance. The female party was transported to the hospital.

Deputies responded to the 300 block of Maple to assist with the ambulance. The female party was transported to the hospital.

Deputies responded to HWY 50 and CR 24 to assist the ambulance. The patient was treated and refused transportation. 

Deputies responded to the 1000 block of 4th Street in Las Animas for the report of a disturbance. Deputies investigated the matter and found it to be a civil issue. 

Deputies observed an individual who had a warrant for their arrest in the 400 Block of Ambassador Thompson BLVD in Las Animas. Deputies took the individual into custody and transported them to the Bent County Jail.

Deputies responded to the 600 block of St Vrain Avenue in Las Animas for the report of suspicious activity. Deputies talked to the property owner and the couple had permission to be there.

Deputies responded to the 300 block of St Vrain Avenue in Las Animas for the report of a disturbance. The parties left before deputies arrived.

8/19/2022

Deputies responded to the 500 block of Carson Avenue in Las Animas for the report of a person with a warrant. Deputies were unable to locate the person.

Deputies responded to the 300 block of Carson Avenue in Las Animas for the report of a suspicious person. Deputies were able to locate the person. The person was transported to AVRMC.

Deputies responded to the 300 block of 5th street in Las Animas for the report of a smoke alarm. Deputies were unable to locate any smoke inside the building.

Deputies responded to the 600 block of Ash Avenue in Las Animas for the report of a suspicious vehicle. Deputies were able to locate the vehicle. The party pulled over to rest.

Deputies responded to Highway 50 and CR 12 in Las Animas for the report of motorist assistance. Deputies advised the party of a rest area. 

Deputies responded to the 30000 block of CR 14.9 to assist the ambulance. The patient was loaded and transported to the hospital in La Junta. 

Deputies responded to the 800 block of 2nd St on a report of an unwanted party. One adult male was taken into custody. 

Deputies assisted the Otero County Sheriff's Office to locate suspects in a theft in Rocky Ford.  Deputies were unable to locate suspects or the suspect’s vehicle.

Deputies responded to the 300 block of 4th Street for the report of a robbery. Deputies spoke with the reporting person and determined no robbery or criminal act occurred.

Deputies responded to the 1600 block of Ambassador Thompson Blvd on a report of a vehicle versus pedestrian accident. Deputies are investigating.

Deputies responded to the 300 block of Vigil Ave on a report of an unwanted party. Deputies were unable to locate the party. 

Deputies responded to the 35000 block of CR 35 to assist the ambulance. The patient refused a ride from the ambulance. 

Deputies responded to the 10000 block of highway 50 to assist the ambulance. The patient was loaded and transported to the hospital in La Junta.

Deputies responded to the 11000 block of County Road GG.5 in Las Animas for the report of stalking.  Deputies were unable to locate the vehicle. 

Deputies responded to the 30000 block of CR 15 in Las Animas for the report of a medical assistance. Deputies helped load the patient.

Deputies responded to the 500 block of Carson Avenue in Las Animas for the report of suspicious activity. Deputies were able to locate an open door and notified the business owner. 

Deputies responded to the 600 block of Moore Avenue in Las Animas for the report of reckless driver. Deputies were unable to locate any activity.

Deputies responded to the 400 block of Ambassador Thompson Blvd in Las Animas for the report of vehicle lockout. The party found the keys before deputies arrived.
