Obituary

Kaylee Ann Springer, 17, of Cheraw passed away unexpectedly on April 29, 2018 at the Arkansas Valley Regional Medical Center in La Junta. She was born on December 5, 2000 to Shawn & Serina K. (Quick) in La Junta, Colorado.

She loved her softball and was ready for this summer to start. Just know she might not be here to play but she will be out on the field helping you guys out and yelling at you to keep playing and never give up. She wanted to be there to be catcher and help lead this year. She would have made a good captain leader.

Thank you to all the coaches, teammates, and parents we have had the pleasure of being at the games with; from La Junta to Cheraw. From my whole family thank you for everything that you have done for her and our family during this time. I know she is smiling down wishing she was here and believe me I would gladly trade her spots so she could have a full enjoyable life. Heaven got one heck of an angel. They just don't know how special she is and that she is coming to take over and take on heaven.

My firecracker “Mini Me” spitfire all in that little package. I love you so much and am greedy and want you here with us and so does everyone else. Taken before we were ready and in the blink of an eye. Life is short. Live life to the fullest and never put off until tomorrow what you need to do today. She deserved the world and was our rock, our leader and she was there for her sister, brother, and nephew.

Kaylee is survived by her parents, Serina (Shawn) Springer of the Cheraw home; siblings, Tyler & Jaylin Springer both of Cheraw; grandparents, Jay (Louann) Quick of Cheraw; cousins, Gennie Mae Mikilani Dolce of Hoehne, CO; Gilliana Louise Ululanie Dolce of California; and nephew, Easton Springer of Cheraw. She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Michael Randy Springer and grandmother, Donna Louise Ululanie Harpo Springer.

Potluck dinner was held prior to service on Saturday, May 12, 6 p.m.at the gazebo by the tennis courts at the Tippy Martinez Park followed by a sunset service at 7:30 p.m. at the Tippy Martinez Field. Family requests that casual clothing be worn and students to wear their school shirts.

Peacock-Larsen Funeral Home & Arkansas Valley Crematory is in charge of arrangements.
