9/17/2022

Deputies responded to the 900 block of 5th street in Las Animas for the report of medical assistance. Deputies helped load the patient.

Deputies responded to the 600 block of Vine Ave for a report of a loose dog. Deputies located the dog, and the owner picked up the dog.  

Deputies responded to the 13000 block of County Road HH for a report of vandalism. Deputies found the vandalized signs and took photos of the damage for documentation. 

Deputies responded to the area of Hwy 50 and MM 426 for a report of a reckless driver.  Deputies stopped the vehicle and the driver was issued a warning.

Deputies responded to the 600 block of Elm Ave for an ambulance assist. Deputies assisted ambulance personnel in loading the patient.

Deputies responded to the 14000 block of County Road HH for a report of live ammunition. Deputies spoke with the party and advised them what to do with the ammunition.

Deputies responded to the 11000 block of County Road GG.5 for a report of a scam. Deputies spoke with the party and advised them to stop contacting them.

Deputies responded to the area of 3rd and Oakland for a report of vandalism. Deputies were unable to locate the four juveniles seen in the house.

Deputies responded to the 10000 block of Highway 50 in Las Animas for the report of a gas leak. Deputies cleared the room and opened doors to help vent it. 

Deputies responded to the 900 block of 4th street in Las Animas for the report of a dog at large. Deputies were able to locate the dog and return the dog to the owner.

Deputies responded to the 1100 block of 4th street in Las Animas for the report of a dog at large. Upon further investigation, deputies discovered the individual to have a valid warrant for their arrest. The individual was taken into custody and transported to the Bent County Jail. 

Deputies responded to the 600 block of Ash Avenue in Las Animas for the report of a motorist assist. Deputies were able to jump the car battery. 

9/18/2022

Deputies responded to Highway 101 and Mile Marker two in Las Animas for the report of livestock on the highway. Deputies were able to locate the livestock and push them back into the field.

Deputies responded to the 1000 block of Maple Ave on a report of a 911 hang-up. Deputies found this to be a false alarm.

Deputies responded to the 400 block of Maple Ave for a welfare check. The party was okay, they just overslept.  

Deputies responded to the 31000 block of CR 24 on a report of harassment. Deputies informed the parties involved that the issue was a civil matter. 

Deputies responded to the 30000 block of CR 15 to assist the ambulance. Deputies gave the party a courtesy ride to the hospital in La Junta, due to the fact that the party did not feel safe in the ambulance.   

Deputies responded to the 900 block of 4th Street in Las Animas for the report of a dog on the loose. Deputies were unable to locate the dog.

Deputies responded to the 9000 block of Highway 194 for a civil standby. Everything was handled without incident.

Deputies responded to the 200 block of Las Animas, Colorado for the report of trespassing. Deputies took a statement.

Deputies responded to the intersection of Highway 194 and County Road 7 in Bent County, Colorado for the report of livestock on the highway. Deputies were unable to locate the livestock.

Deputies responded to the intersection of Highway 50 and Maple Avenue in Las Animas, Colorado for the report of a reckless driver. Deputies were unable to locate the driver.

Deputies responded to Highway 194 and Milepost 18 in Bent County, Colorado for the report of livestock in the highway. Deputies were able to get the livestock back into their property.

Deputies responded to the 30000 block of County Road 25.75 in Hasty, Colorado for the report of suspicious activity. Deputies determined that everything was okay.

Deputies responded to the 10000 block of Highway 50 in Las Animas, Colorado for the report of suspicious activity. Deputies were unable to locate the activity.

9/19/2022

Deputies responded to the 30000 block of County Road 10 for a medical alarm. After further investigation, deputies discovered that it was a false alarm.

Deputies responded to the 7000 block of Highway 194 on a report of cattle on the roadway. Deputies and the owner chased the cattle back into the pasture.

Deputies responded to the 32000 block of CR 16 on a report of a stolen vehicle. The vehicle was put in the national system as stolen. Deputies are investigating the theft.

Deputies responded to the 31000 block of CR 24 on a report of trash scattered by a dumpster. Deputies called the city to have the trash cleaned up. 

Deputies took a phone call at the Sheriff's Office to talk to a male party about lottery tickets being sold out of order. Deputies advised the male party that the issue would have to be taken to the manager of the establishment. 

Deputies responded to Highway 101 and Mile Marker 3 on a report of a single vehicle crash. The car was towed off the road and no one was injured. The case was investigated by Colorado State Patrol. 

Deputies responded to the 700 block of Bent Ave on a report of threats. Deputies secured the property and found this to be a false alarm. 

Deputies responded to the 300 block of 4th St on a report of fraud. Deputies are investigating the case. 

Deputies responded to 4th and Ash Ave on a report on harassment. Deputies are investigating this issue. 

Deputies responded to the 100 block of Bent Ave on a report of fraud. Deputies are investigating the situation. 

Deputies responded to the intersection of 6th Street and Grand Avenue for the report of a dog on the loose. Deputies were unable to locate the dog.

Deputies responded to the 28000 block of County Road 10.75 for a voluntary contact involving a juvenile issue. Deputies determined that everything was okay.

9/20/2022

Deputies responded to Highway 50 and Milepost 389 for a public service. Deputies gave a male party a courtesy ride.

Deputies responded to the 200 block of Vigil Avenue for an animal call. Deputies talked to the owner of the animal and they agreed to quiet their dog down.

Deputies responded to 32574 CR 15 for a welfare check. The parties were okay and did not need assistance. 

Deputies responded to the 900 block of Lois Ave on a report of a vehicle blocking traffic. Deputies informed the party that they could not park in the street. The party agreed to move the vehicle. 

Deputies responded to the 700 block of Elm Ave on a report of a dog running at large. Deputies were unable to locate the dog. 

Deputies responded to the 1000 block of 2nd St to assist the ambulance. The party refused transportation to the hospital. 

Deputies responded to the 30000 block of CR 10 for a report of an animal attack. Neither the attacking animal nor the attacked animal were located. 

Deputies responded to 8th Street and Carson Avenue for the report of a wanted person with an outstanding warrant. One adult male was taken into custody for an active warrant.

Deputies responded to the 300 block of Locust Ave on a report of an injured dog. Deputies were unable to find the injured dog. 

Deputies responded to the 300 block of Vine Ave on a report of a 911 hang-up. Deputies patrolled the area and found everything to be okay. 

Deputies responded to the 600 block of Ash Ave to deliver an emergency message. Deputies delivered the message. 

Deputies responded to the 29000 block of Highway 101 for a welfare check. Deputies determined everything was okay. 

Deputies responded to the 100 block of Vigil Avenue for an ambulance assist. Deputies assisted EMS with lifting the patient.

Deputies responded to the 200 block of St Vrain Avenue for an animal call. Deputies transported one dog to the Las Animas Dog Pound.

9/21/2022

Deputies responded to Dollar General for the report of two people sleeping out front that would not leave. Deputies contacted the individuals and called for medical assistance for one individual. After medical clearance, the individuals left the premises.

Deputies responded to 5th and Grand in Las Animas for the report of a dog running large. Deputies were unable to locate the dog. 

Deputies responded to the 900 block of Elm Ave for a report of attempted theft of a dog. Deputies spoke with the owner and were unable to locate or identify the suspects.

Deputies responded to the 300 block of Bent Ave for a report of a fight in progress.  Deputies arrived and found one party with an active warrant for their arrest. The party was taken into custody and transported to the Bent County Jail.

Deputies responded to the 600 block of Oak Avenue in Las Animas for the report of damaged property. Deputies discovered the back door to be broken. 

Deputies responded to the 300 block of 4th Street in Las Animas for the report of a domestic problem. Deputies investigated the matter and found no problem. The individuals were transported to the Santa Fe Inn for the night.

Deputies conducted a traffic stop on Highway 50 and Mile Marker 390 for speeding. The individual was issued a citation for speed and reckless driving. The individual was summoned and released.

9/22/2022

Deputies responded to the 200 block of Vigil Ave for a report of a burglary alarm. Deputies arrived and determined everything was okay.

Deputies responded to the 600 block of Vine Ave for a report of utilities theft. Deputies determined that no utility theft had occurred.

Deputies responded to the 300 block of Bent Avenue in Las Animas for the report of vehicle lockout. Deputies were able to unlock the vehicle.

Deputies responded to the 500 block of 3rd street in Las Animas for the report of a suspicious vehicle. Deputies were able to locate the vehicle and advise the party they were not allowed on the property. 

Deputies responded to the 1000 block of Bent Avenue for the report of an unresponsive person. Deputies are still investigating the matter.

9/23/2022

Deputies responded to the 400 block of 6th street in Las Animas for the report of a burglar alarm. Upon further investigation, deputies discovered one of the workers entered the wrong code.

Deputies responded to the 11000 block of County Road FF.75 for a report of a fire. Deputies arrived and determined it was the control burn in the area.

Deputies responded to the 900 block of Maple Ave for a report of a dog at large. Deputies found the dog back inside the fence and are attempting to contact the owner.

Deputies responded to the 11000 block of County Road GG.5 for a civil issue.  Deputies spoke with the reporting party and let them know it would be a civil issue.

Deputies responded to the 600 block of Grove Ave for a report of a dog bite. Deputies arrived and spoke with the victim, and the dog owner was issued a summons.

Deputies responded to the 1300 block of Grove Ave for a traffic complaint. Deputies spoke with the reporting party and advised her to speak with the department of road and bridge.

Deputies responded to the 600 block of Moore Ave for a report of harassment. Deputies spoke with the reporting party and it was determined to be a civil issue over money.

Deputies responded to the 1500 block of Ambassador Thompson for a vehicle unlock.  When deputies arrived the vehicle was already unlocked.

Deputies responded to the 400 block of Grove for a civil issue. The deputies spoke with the parties and advised them to handle the issue with the courts.

Deputies responded to the 700 block of South Adams St in Hasty for a report of people yelling inside a house.  When deputies arrived, they spoke with the parties inside the residence and determined that they were watching scary movies.

Deputies responded to the area of 4th St. and Vine Ave for a dog following a party walking. Deputies arrived and the dog was taken to the pound.

Deputies responded to the 31000 block of County Road 24 in Hasty for the report of threats. Upon further investigation, deputies discovered no threats were made.

Deputies responded to the 14000 block of County Road KK for a report of theft.  Deputies spoke with the reporting party and are investigating the matter.

Deputies responded to the 900 block of Grand avenue in Las Animas for the report of dogs stuck together. When deputies arrived, the dogs were already separated. 

Deputies responded to the 9000 block of Highway 194 in Las Animas for the report of a protection order violation. Deputies advised the party that they needed to follow the protection order and speak with the court about any changes.

Deputies responded to the 800 block of 4th street in Las Animas for the report of a protection order violation. Deputies advised the party that they needed to follow the order of the court and speak with the court about any changes.

Deputies responded to the 300 block of Locust Avenue in Las Animas for the report of a welfare check. Deputies were unable to locate the person.
